Kenzie has been a registered nurse since 2013. She has a strong background in medical-surgical care and emergency/trauma care. She received her Bachelors of science degree in Psychology and a Masters of science degree in School Psychology from Abilene Christian University. She then went on to receive her bachelor's degree of nursing from University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX.
Kenzie worked on a cardiac telemetry unit at CHI Baylor St. Luke’s Hospital, Houston from 2013 to 2014. She served as a bedside nurse, charge nurse, and a preceptor to new staff and new graduate nurses. Kenzie then went on to work at Houston Methodist West Hospital on a post-operative medical-surgical unit from 2014 to 2021 as a bedside nurse, charge nurse, and a preceptor for new and graduate nurses. While working on this unit she served as an orthopedic coordinator to the orthopedic surgeon team to teach pre-operative and post-operative care management. She was a part of the PNAC committee for the hospital, serving to alongside former patients, family and staff to help better the safety and admission/discharge care and processes. Kenzie then worked at Houston Methodist West Hospital in the emergency department in 2021 serving as a bedside emergency nurse. Later that year, she went on to work at Memorial Hermann TMC level 1 trauma center hospital, as a bedside emergency trauma nurse and preceptor to new staff and new graduate nurses. Here she has been proficient in level 1 trauma and critical care nursing. Over the years, Kenzie has worked alongside and collaborated with doctors, surgeons, nurses, physician’s assistants, nurse practitioners, risk management, social workers, respiratory therapists, and many more medical professionals.
In 2023, Kenzie started with Whitaker Bell Law Firm as a legal nurse consultant, helping to assist attorneys in medical cases with various hospitals and doctors on the defense side.
Kenzie has served in 2 medical mission trips to Haiti in 2016. She went and assisted doctors and dentists and other medical professionals with basic medical care to a community clinic giving medications, assessments, assisting in dental procedures, giving vaccines, and numerous community service projects to serve the Haitian community.
Kenzie is a loving wife and mother of 3 children, involved in the local sports communities and serves on PTA board at one of the district elementary schools. She is involved in numerous outreach programs and events for the community with her local church congregation, as well as their children’s ministry.
